Carfax report: http://mattfife.net/special/carfax/index.htm
This has been a great first car, but it was time to get a
new one for me. Hard for me to let it
go really. I was using it every day to
commute 30 miles to/from work and it was super-reliable. No noises/knocks/etc. Always starts on the first crank every
morning hot or cold. I took good care
of this car and did a lot of the maintenance and work myself – most of it as
preventative maintence. Take good care
of your car, and it’ll take good care of you.
If you do the same, I fully expect this car to go another 100k. Parts
for this car have been really cheap and easy to get. Car is pretty easy to work on too. Always got regular oil changes on
time. I finally bought a new car and
now this is just a spare I don’t want to keep sitting idle.
Details:
-1993 Nissan Altima GLE
-4 cyl, 2.4 liter engine – Front wheel drive – I
got ~25mpg in average driving – including downtown
-196,000 miles – almost all highway.
Roll it over 200k yourself! See
all those zeros go over. J
-Front brakes are new ~80% remaining.
Rears are about 50% last I checked.
-Brand new 60k tires – great tread – spent $350 on these.
-leather interior
-Digital climate control: Air
conditioning that has always worked great/no leaks, great heat – new heater
core 2 years ago.
-Power steering, power windows, power locks
-factory power moonroof – works great – both slide
back and tilt style
-Heads up display – yep – see the pictures – it digitally displays your speed
on the windshield!
-driver side airbag
-cruise control that works great
-premium alloy wheels
- Tape stereo (Bose). The CD player
and AM/FM stopped working reliably (they do work intermittently), but I’ve
used a tape adapter for some time and I’ll throw that in for free (speakers
work fine). A used factory CD/radio
for this on ebay is only $100.
-I’ll throw in the Chilton’s repair/reference guide for this car free.
-no pets, smokers, kids – it’s got 15 years of normal wear and tear, but a
really clean car
History/everything I know:
-passes DEQ – have paperwork from 6/5 to prove it. Good for 2 years.
-Was only involved in a 5mph parking lot bender when lady backed into corner
– see pics.
Only cosmetic damage.
Headlights perfectly balanced and still adjustable. Had a guy pop the dent and paint over
it. Repair shop quoted $1200 for panel
replacement and most of that was for paint matching costs.
-a valve cover oil leak, haven’t done a quote on it – but should be about $150
-probably could use one flaky motor mount – about $100
-neither of the above effects drivability/safety/etc
New stuff I fixed/upgraded/replaced last couple of years:
-just put brand new 60k tires – I spent $400 on these alone and have less
than 1k miles on them.
-new struts all around (this year - $500)
-front brake calipers replaced
-new heater core
-new starter
-new fuel injectors
-new thermostat and radiator (couple years back)
-new water pump (couple years back)
KBB is $2505 – ding+repairs.
I’m asking $1900 obo.
